Why Is My Mucus Is Thick And Chunky

Ephemeral works of sand between the dunes

If we want to mention the city or the places most popular Japanese tourist abroad, surely emerge at the top Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, and still Kamakura, Nikko, Kanazawa, Miyajima, Hiroshima and Nagasaki and Hokkaido ... (the latter directly in the city devastated by the atomic bomb and where still and 'passed down from generation to generation the great desire for peace among men of the Earth). So now I ask you a question: Are you aware of the city 'where you can admire the desert (!) And sand dunes (!) Before your eyes in Japan (!!!) ... surprised? It is In effect, a city well known in Japan because of the presence of desert dunes. His name is Tottori . Perhaps little known abroad, this small city is the capital of the prefecture on the island of Honshu. If we consider that the number of people in Tokyo is thirteen million, while that of Tottori is slightly less than six thousand you can get an idea of his "small" size.

of Tottori Prefecture, is located in the western part of Japan , and overlooks the Sea of Japan (Nihonkai) along its northern part. It is a province however, very rich in nature, surrounded in the southern part of the Chugoku mountain range where the mountain stands Daisen , the highest mountain in the Chugoku region of Japan and the West: Mt Daisen above the same region with its summit reaching the 1709 meters, and where you can see the horizon even the Sea of Japan on a clear day. In addition, the grand Profile of the same mountain is very similar to that of Mount Fuji that symbolizes Japan. Just as in Italy, follow one another in this area every year, four seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter) and held numerous events related to the traditional seasons. The most important of all, also saw the highest number of people is reminiscent of the Tottori Shan Shan Festival , an event which is held every year in August.

addition to Shan Shan Festival, in 2009 there was a great artistic event Interestingly enough, the World Sand Sculpture Festival in which the brilliant sand sculptors selected in the respective countries of the world have competed showing off their skill in creating sand sculptures. This festival is held every year in a different country in the world, this year's event will be in New Zealand. Certainly the expectation of these must-read works "in the sand" during this event is not admirable at all ... they are long-lived transient whose works, unfortunately, life is only a month and a half. On the other hand remains the chance to admire magnificent sculptures of sand almost throughout the year in the rest of the world. And yet always in Tottori is the only museum in the world where they are exposed works of art from sand: it is called "THE SAND MUSEUM Tottori City." From 29 April 2010 to January 10, 2011 will be a outdoor exhibition on the theme "A Journey in Africa", which will display works of sculpted sand sculptors from 11 countries representing eight of the wild animals that inhabit the vast lands of Africa .

A curiosity: How to create a sand sculpture, so chalky material and because of this "rebel"? Out of curiosity I checked the process composition of a work and collect lots of photos on it. We proceed by implementing the following steps in succession:

1. Making a kind of mold using planks of wood
2. Introduced into the mold and smooth the sand surface
3. Infiltrate the water of the same quantity of sand to remove any air remaining
4. Once you exit the water to compact the sand with a compressor (the glue is not used until this stage)
5. Stack layers by repeating the first four phases
6. Begin to carve to shape the work, starting from
7. Achieved the desired shape, spread glue on the surface to solidify the work so that it lasts as long as possible

then formed by this process works, masterpieces Sgarro without any cutting, were exhibited before the public. The exhibition that the museum " SAND THE MUSEUM Tottori City "got under way, for more information, visit their website (unfortunately only in Japanese!).

sight in Japan, the world's most renowned To give you, probably top the list of Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Nara, and Hokkaido Kamakura Kanazawa Miyazima more sunlight, and remember the damage suffered would still have to bomb "Kazu Tadashi desire Will the "Hiroshima and Nagasaki would have been handed down strongly.

This
Festival "Tottori Shanshan" one more than in 2009, last year, a large event was held in Tottori this valuable and very artistic. The name of the event is "sand statue festival world" and compete for each of their arms boast a talented sand sculptors selection of images from around the world have been held every year somewhere in the world. This year will be held in New Zealand.

Suddenly, a question 過Gitta head. "Sand," a powdery material, at worst this "difficult" to use the material, or to complete a single sculpture about sand statue. I checked with the process of creating sculpture photograph images related to the sand to clarify this question. Then, we found that creation proceeds as follows.

1. Giant sand sculpture statue (height about 8m 6m · side) for creating and crossed the first stage of the first crate.
2. Put the sand into the wooden frame, to flatten the surface.
3. Poured into wooden frames for the vent in the same amount of water in the sand and wood frame.
4. The compressor using a sand cement was poured into the water penetrate the ground for all. (And not use any glue at this stage.)
5. 1 Repeat step 4, step build up of sand.
6. Form an image of sand from the top, begin to carve.
7. On the sand just finished carving the statue, painted on the surface of the work we elaborate a coagulant to last the life of the work as long as possible.

all be on display in front of the statue is carved from a masterpiece of fine sand was completed through these processes. "Sand Dune Sand Art" Exhibition For more information about the fourth season has been held at the museum, please visit our site. (All written in Japanese)
