WICKED MINDS - Return to Uranus

Reviewed by Donato Zoppo

Reissued on vinyl the debut album of rockers Piacenza (Version Printable
)
Before the Wicked Minds become the majestic quintet hard-progressive as we know, the training was a trio dedicated to a liquid and dilated psychedelic hard rock. Lucio Calegari (voice and guitar), Enrico Garilli (bass), Andrea Concarotti (drums): This is the power trio who in 1999 published "Return to Uranus", the debut album of the group then will continue its evolution stilistica.La Dabliu Records of Philip Bernini has recently edited the reissue, in an edition of luxury vinyl carefully remastered by Alberto Callegari Elf Studio and a redesign of the artwork by Paolo "Apollo" Negri, current keyboardist Piacenza band. Vinyl 180 gr., Limited edition of 500 copies, if only to see it and handle it propels us into an era gone, one of the best hard rock of the early '70s. "Beyond the Universe" has a powerful attack from stoner rock, and in general all over the disk is characterized by the centrality of the guitar - very invasive nell'irresistibile such as "War", almost Kyuss - and the earth-shaking rhythms. No mention of the progressive that gradually penetrate into new training, some psychedelic elements in "The River Flows" and a space rock Floyd sees it floating in the overview and open as in "Garden of burning trees." To frame the taste of the big jam in the title-track.Ai will add three Negri and singer JC Cinel, to train personnel now making a name for himself in Europe. An interesting debut, which is the first form of expression to the powerful rock combo.
