Eurovision Song Contest 2008 Italy 
From 10 to 25 May last, was held in the Belgrade Eurovision Song Contest 2008 "in which singers from some 43 countries from Europe (and surrounding areas) have met to fight a with music and songs in front of the entire population of the "Old Continent", a sort of wide-ranging festival di Sanremo ...
also all the normal European citizens could participate in choosing the best track, through the now well-known system of remote voting.
after 2 semi-finals and final, victory went to Russia with the song " Believe", sung by Dima Bilan. San Marino also participated Miodio with the group, which has submitted the song " Accomplice," and this gave me the opportunity (and luck) to follow this event live in Europe, which was sent to San Marino RTV.
And Italy, what did Italy? Who sang?
Well, our Italy has not even participated , nobody knew nothing, not even television (though it was, rightly, in Eurovision).
Nothing at all ... Our
Italy, so modern and "Europe" can not look beyond the wall of the Alps, nor beyond the sea that surrounds it, at least for entertainment: the Sanremo usually enough for us, and (personally) left us a lot '.

62 years ago the Italian citizens chose the republic as a form of government and abandoned the monarchy, taking a bold and innovative for its time.
Italy became a republic for the first time in history: one nation, of all Italian citizens.
not forget the importance of choice, do not forget that we can always choose, it is our right and I think that continue to choose it as our moral duty.
And do not forget even those who have no choice, in dictatorships or totalitarian regimes (such as the recent reports from Tibet and Myanmar) where the possibilities for change are not allowed.
not forget even those who no longer want to choose, who no longer have interest in their country and who prefer not to listen to their problems only to live their lives everyday. We do not do the mistake of letting someone else choose our future, we may find ourselves cut off, without knowing how to change more ...

For the first time in ITS history, Italy Became a republic: One Nation, Italian Citizens' one.
Do not Forget the Importance of choice, do not forget we can always choose, it's one of Our rights and I think keeping on choosing is one of our moral duties.
And neither forget those who cannot choose, e.g. in dictatorships like in Tibet or in Myanmar, where chances for changing are not allowed.
Remember also those ones who don't want to choose anymore, who are not interested anymore in their own Country and prefer to avoid problems and live just their own everyday life.
Do not let someone else choose our future, it would be an error, we could notice we are out, without knowing how to change back anymore...
